BREAKING: Georgia AG Won't Say Whether He'll Investigate Fani Willis for Perjury

Georgia’s Republican Attorney General Chris Carr is declining to say whether he’ll investigate Fani Willis and Nathan Wade for perjury.

Carr declined to respond to a question by Restoration News about whether he’ll launch an investigation.

Carr proclaims on his website that he won’t hesitate to investigate public officials when they violate the public trust.

Chris takes seriously his oath of office and believes that he and all public officials must maintain high standards to keep the public’s trust. In cases where public officials fail to uphold the law or the highest ethical standards, Chris has not hesitated to prosecute them, regardless of their position or political party.

The issue of perjury arose in hearings earlier this year in the dubious Fulton County RICO prosecution of former President Donald Trump and others. One of the defendants alleged Willis and Special Assistant DA Wade were having an affair and thus had conflicts of interest.

Willis’ and Wade’s sworn testimonies in those hearings were strongly contradicted by witnesses and other evidence. Although Judge Scott McAfee declined to throw both off the case (he said one had to go), he said “an odor of mendacity” remains present. McAfee’s ruling is now being appealed to the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Several prominent commentators openly wondered whether state Attorney General Carr would look into perjury charges against Willis and Wade.

Conservative lawyer Will Chamberlain said in a Federalist op-ed, “It’s Time For Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp And His AG To Indict Fani Willis For Perjury.

The “reasonable questions” about DA Willis’ truthfulness are already the subject of complaints to the Georgia Bar about Willis and Wade’s conduct. They should also serve as the predicate for an investigation by Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr into potential perjury charges against Willis and Wade. Carr, and his boss Brian Kemp, need to get off the sidelines. A partisan Democrat prosecutor has just lied under oath so that she can continue prosecuting Republicans for objecting to election results.

Prior to the hearing over the affair, Georgia GOP House member Marjorie Taylor Greene made a criminal referral to Carr to investigate Willis.
