Kamala the Pro-Crime Prosecutor

As San Francisco District Attorney, Harris put her leftist agenda ahead of justice for a murdered police officer

For Kamala Harris, putting killers’ rights above victims’ rights goes back to 2004, when she became the famously liberal city’s chief prosecutor. In her first two years in office, violent crime spiked in San Francisco to a rate over 80 percent higher than the American average. When violent crime rates in New York were declining, the opposite was happening under her leadership in San Francisco.

Soon after Harris took office as the San Francisco district attorney, police officer Isaac Espinoza was brutally murdered by a gang member who shot him with a dozen rounds at point blank range the day before Easter. Espinoza was a devoted husband and father of a 3-year-old daughter and a respected police union representative. He was also a devout Christian who looked forward to attending church the following day, but that never happened.

Just 2 days after Espinoza was murdered and before he was even buried, Kamala Harris made a public statement that she would not pursue the death penalty for Espinoza’s killer.

Espinoza’s wife, Renata, was devastated and said no one from the prosecutor’s office reached out to the family. Harris’ actions were even too much for Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who said at Espinoza’s funeral: “This is not only the definition of tragedy, it’s the special circumstance called for by the death penalty law.”  Those comments received a standing ovation of hundreds of officers in attendance as they turned to stare at Kamala Harris.

Renata Espinoza wrote a letter to Harris, which she callously ignored. Instead, Harris wrote an op-ed defending her decision, stating: “The district attorney is charged with seeking justice, not vengeance.” The family was appalled and felt the death penalty was the justice they deserved.

That wasn’t a one-off, either. Four years later, an illegal alien from El Salvador and member of the violent MS-13 gang murdered three innocent people as they walked home from a family picnic. Edwin Ramos was arrested multiple times prior to committing the murders but was never deported. Kamala Harris refused to seek the death penalty.

Now, as Joe Biden’s “border czar,” Harris took things even further by opening the border and allowing at least 11 million more Edwin Ramos’s into our communities. As President, how much more damage does she plan to cause?

It is Harris’ intent to force California policies onto the rest of the country. She has commented many times “So goes California goes the nation.” In 2022, the violent crime rate in California was more than 30 percent higher than the national average. We must stop America from becoming California by rejecting Harris and anyone who supports her.
