GAZA Act Reveals Democrat Party’s Spinelessness on Hamas
The Palestinian terror group’s attack on Israel shows how radical the Democratic Party has become under its far-left masters.
It’s Judgment Day for Democrats.
After years of coddling anti-Semitic Palestinian groups demanding the “decolonization” of Israel, the far Left faces a reckoning with reality. It turns out that hundreds of pro-Hamas groups littering the campuses of America’s top universities—as well as the streets of our nation’s capital—weren’t virtue signaling when they assailed Israel’s “Zionist occupation” and “genocidal” “apartheid regime.”
Apparently massacring unarmed women and babies is exactly what the radical Left had in mind. Take it from Texas Tech professor Jairo I. Funez-Flores, who specializes in “decolonial theory” and intersectionality, who’s tweeted (with impunity) since the invasion:
Palestinians have the right to resist occupation!
DECOLONIZATION IS NOT A METAPHOR
FREE ALL OCCUPIED, SUBJUGATED, EXPLOITED, DOMINATED, AND COLONIZED LANDS
While many on the activist Left have thrown in their lot with Hamas, senior Democrat politicians have shamefully equivocated between Israel and Palestine—or stayed silent altogether. Rep. Rashia Tlaib (D–MI), whose congressional office boasts a Palestinian flag, wants President Biden to negotiate an absurd “ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas, barring Israel from avenging the deaths of 1,300 Jews and securing its Gaza border. Yet Tlaib’s top fundraiser simultaneously accuses Israel of “ethnic cleansing” against Palestinians while calling for an end to the “siege in Gaza.”
Securing America
Contrast Democrats’ weakness on terrorism with congressional Republicans’ latest push to secure the United States.
On Oct. 16, Republican Reps. Tom Tiffany (WI) and Andy Ogles (TN) introduced the “Guaranteeing Aggressors Zero Admission” (GAZA) Act to block the Biden administration from issuing U.S. visas to those with Palestinian Authority passports, keeping unvetted individuals—and would-be terrorists—out of our country. The bill also blocks the Department of Homeland Security from using its parole pipeline to funnel Palestinians into America.
“We cannot trust Biden’s DHS to fully vet Palestinians when they are not even vetting all the illegal aliens crossing our southern border,” Rep. Tiffany told Restoration News. “With over 1.5 million gotaways already in our country, we do not need more potential national security threats coming from a region with high terrorism. The GAZA Act will protect America’s national security by preventing the Biden administration from resettling unvetted Palestinians into American communities.”
Recall that Biden used that parole pipeline—dubbed “Operation Allies”—to resettle 100,000 Afghans across the U.S. during his administration’s reckless withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. That scheme targeted 30 states, particularly those already struggling with hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens pouring in from our southern border, such as Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, and Arizona. Many of these “refugees” were not vetted in-person beforehand; some were later linked to terror groups.
Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s (WI) office didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Don’t Send Leftists to Do a Conservative’s Job
Lawless Democrats like Rep. Jamaal Bowman (NY)—currently under investigation for pulling a fire alarm in a House office building—demand we open our borders to Palestinians. Dozens of congressional Democrats signed a letter to President Biden demanding the U.S. equivocate between Israel and Palestine, saying: “Hamas is not the Palestinian people and the Palestinian people are not Hamas.”
Contrast that with Republican Sen. Marco Rubio’s (FL) planned legislation forcing the Biden administration to cancel visas for foreign nationals who “endorse or espouse terrorist activity,” including Palestinian intifadas. Republican Sens. Ted Cruz (TX), Rick Scott (FL), and Tom Cotton (AR) are on board.
Two Florida conservatives—Gov. and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis and Rep. Cory Mills—went further, chartering multiple planes to rescue some 400 Americans stuck in Israel after Hamas’ attack last Saturday. They aim to rescue as many of the 20,000 Americans caught in Israel as possible, free of charge.
“Progressives” may be unable to distinguish between genocidal Jew-killers and their victims, but the American people have no such illusions. Fully 66 percent support a “complete eradication” of Hamas (19 percent disagreed) while 53 percent believe Palestine is mostly to blame for the violence.
Expect those figures to grow in Republicans’ favor if Israel’s fight with Hamas grows into a regional conflict. Iran, one of Hamas’ backers, has warned it would take “preemptive action” if Israel invades the Gaza Strip. Ditto its puppet in Lebanon, Hezbollah.
Closer to home, U.S. authorities caught four Iranians trying to enter the country through our border with Mexico last week. The FBI warns that the threat of terror attacks are rising.
Americans are rapidly learning how unsafe they are with doddering Joe Biden in the White House. The battle lines have never been clearer.
