Eco-Activists Had $3.4 Billion in 2022 to Push Biden’s Green New Deal

The “greenest” thing about Big Green is its mountains of cash

Climate activists pretend they’re David in a fight against climate-skeptical Goliath. But the receipts show otherwise.

Restoration News calculates that the Left’s environmental activist groups pulled in over $3.4 billion in 2022 alone, according to the latest disclosures from nearly 200 groups. Those funds covered lobbying politicians and bureaucrats, litigation to shut down America’s energy production, political ads to boost Democrats in the 2022 midterm elections, and salaries for the legion of on-call astroturf agitators the Left loves to parade as “concerned grassroots citizens.”

And virtually all of these groups are tax-exempt nonprofits, three quarters of them “charities” whose contributions are tax-deductible for the wealthy donors bankrolling this war on America’s homes, cars, food producers, and working families.

Green New Deal, Inc.

Some of these groups are familiar, like the radical Greenpeace and Sierra Club, while others are obscure—yet each supports broadly the same set of Green New Deal policies that Joe Biden has enacted since 2021.

Each fights coal, oil, and natural gas. Most oppose carbon-free nuclear power. All push the misanthropic narrative that there are too many humans on earth sucking up too many natural resources and warming the globe, so we must de-industrialize into poverty and depopulate your children. They don’t want to “save” the world; they want to destroy it, starting with you.

Here are a few examples of these eco-activists in action:

The Environmental Defense Fund (revenues: $313 million) wants a federally mandated 20 percent decrease in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in less than a decade—achievably only by shutting down most of the U.S. economy and dramatically limiting how much gas goes into your car and electricity into your house.

Earthjustice ($137 million) litigates natural gas power plants into oblivion with millions from the Ford Foundation. Before Biden, that meant suing the Trump administration more than 100 times in 4 years.

350.org ($21.7 million) believes the planet won’t be safe until the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere falls below 350 parts per million from its current ~420 ppm. That’s frighteningly close to the great ice ages of prehistoric earth, when CO2 levels never exceeded 300 ppm—and the planet was virtually a dead rock.

But maybe suicide is the goal. After all, 350 is heavily funded by Fred Stanback, a “known proponent of anti-humanist environmentalism . . . the belief that protecting the environment hinges on population control.”

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has promoted Scientism ideology and pseudoscience for over a century, when it became a leading advocate of eugenics, a totalitarian world government, and a bright future… under the Soviet Union. No surprise that today it wants the same top-down, one-world government policies to cull the excess population—but under the “green” banner.

Though you wouldn’t guess it from the name, the World Wildlife Fund ($373 million) is viciously anti-nuclear energy, calling it “unsustainable” and demanding Europeans “make clear that gas and nuclear will not be part of the[ir] green taxonomy once and for all” in 2021.

The League of Conservation Voters ($135 million) is the Democratic Party’s top get-out-the-green-vote organization using climate scare tactics to gin up donations and votes for the Left. It’s headed by Gene Karpinski, a board member for America Votes—a key cog in the Left’s voter registration machine—who previously led Ralph Nader’s PIRGs to screw consumers.

An anecdote: Karpinski met then-Sen. Barack Obama at the 2004 Democratic convention, where the future president reminisced, “I used to be a PIRG guy. You guys trained me well.”

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC; $202 million) is a top proponent of a carbon-free future—and the wretched poverty, disease, and famine that it entails. NRDC is infamous for its tactic of “sue-and-settle,” launching strategic lawsuits at Obama’s sympathetic Environmental Protection Agency to force new regulations via court order, bypassing Congress altogether.

Greening You to Death

These parasitical organizations advance their agenda when times are good and Americans are rich (and feeling generous). They rely on psychological games to win—scaring the public with baseless declarations that “the end is near” and lying that a $25 donation will save the earth from climate change… or global warming… or “climate weirding.”

None of this works because none of it is real. Except the billions of dollars stolen from you to chase “green” schemes meant to line the pockets of the ultrawealthy.
