Why is the Media Covering for An Illegal Alien Murderer?

Laken Riley was murdered by an illegal alien who entered through Biden’s open borders. But the “mainstream” media refuses to report the truth in order to protect Biden.

Was Jose Ibarra an “Athens man” involved in a “Georgia killing” of nursing student Laken Riley, or a kidnapping murderer from Venezuela living illegally in Atlanta? As ever, our legacy media is quick to smother truth in the rush to defend Democrats—in this case, Joe Biden’s open borders policies.

The 22-year-old University of Georgia student would be alive today if not for Biden’s anti-border policy, which has already helped 7.2 million illegal aliens enter the United States—more than the population of 36 states—bringing crime, poverty, drugs, and disease that threaten to swamp our public safety and health institutions. Among them are nearly 73,000 “special interest aliens” who present a terrorist threat to the country.

In Ibarra’s case, that includes prior criminal arrests by law enforcement after he and his wife crossed into El Paso in September 2022, where he was arrested by Border Patrol agents and released on a bus to New York, rather than deported. Ibarra was later arrested for endangering his 5-year-old stepson by riding a moped without a helmet (or a driver’s license) in chaotic Queens streets, and arrested again in Georgia for allegedly shoplifting food from an Athens Walmart.

Then Ibarra allegedly kidnapped Laken Riley while jogging and beat her to death with a blunt weapon, “seriously . . . disfiguring her skull” before trying to hide her body, according to the gruesome affidavits.

Clearly this is a thug who cannot live in civilized society and ought to have been deported the minute he stepped foot in America. Instead, the Left is busy protecting the Democrats responsible for Riley’s murder—and the proof is in their media’s “reporting.”

“Exercise Violence”

There’s the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, whichblandly says Ibarra “lives in Athens, but is not a U.S. citizen.”

The Associated Press framed Riley’s murder as a story about “the fears of solo female athletes” about predatory men, labeling Ibarra—mentioned just once—as an “Athens resident,” completely ignoring his status as an illegal alien. “Riley’s death has once again put the spotlight on the dangers female runners face,” AP shamelessly crows. (Blame the victim, perhaps?) A follow-up story reduces Riley’s murder to a “killing” and buries Ibarra’s status as an illegal alien 200 words deep into its misleading article.

The Washington Post euphemizes Riley’s murder as a “slaying” by a “Venezuelan migrant” in order to bash conservatives critical of Biden’s border crisis. “On average, immigrants commit fewer crimes than native-born U.S. citizens,” the Post sneers, “but Republican leaders have been galvanized by record numbers of illegal border crossings since Biden took office in 2021.” It’s Trump’s fault, in other words.

“This isn’t about immigration,” the Post quotes a California professor,” it’s about misogyny and patriarchy and all that. That’s a harder pill for people to swallow.” That Ibarra is here illegally goes totally unmentioned.

NBC continued to twist the story into a Republican attack on immigrants, calling Ibarra an “undocumented immigrant . . . who lived in Athens.” The New York Times refines that formula, calling “Mr. Ibarra . . . a resident of Athens who is not a U.S. citizen. . . it was not clear what Mr. Ibarra’s immigration status was” when he murdered Riley.

CNN goes even further, claiming there is “little evidence” tying Riley’s murder to the unprecedented surge in illegal immigration since Biden took office.

Even Fox—supposedly a conservative news outlet—is untrustworthy, referring to Ibarra vaguely as a non-citizen, blurring the line between lawful immigrants and unlawful aliens who violate our laws and threaten our communities.

Shut It Down, Now

If it wasn’t clear that the Biden administration is completely out of touch with normal America, tone-deaf Vice President Kamala Harris quickly used Riley’s death as an opportunity to call for citizenship for illegal aliens. “The border is secure . . . I think that there is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do, the first request we made: Pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship,” she told NBC’s Meet the Press days after Riley was murdered.

Secure it ain’t. Biden’s border patrol agents caught and released enough illegal aliens in 2023 to fill 17 Yankee Stadiums. At the same time, Venezuela—Jose Ibarra’s country of citizenship—reports that its crime levels hit a 22-year low, almost certainly a result of so many criminals heading north.

Many of these migrants use fake passports to pretend they’re unaccompanied minors to make it easier to enter the country illegally. And an army of NGOs feigning Christian charity await any who reach the U.S. border with cash assistance, protection from federal authorities, and airplane tickets to travel deeper into the country—much of it paid for by left-wing donors like the Rockefeller Foundation.

Democrats are encouraging this dangerous mass migration by promising entry to anyone who shows up at our borders, refugee or otherwise. Skeptics should consider a recent House vote in which 150 congressional Democrats voted againsta straightforward bill to deport illegal aliens who drive drunk. Even that’s too “strong” of an immigration policy for today’s Democratic Party.

Athens leftists are part of the problem—it’s one of a handful of sanctuary cities in Georgia, where ruling “progressives” have ordered law enforcement not to comply with federal immigration authorities to protect illegal aliens from deportation.

Athens residents agree—shouting down weaselly mayor Kelly Girtz for lying that his was not a sanctuary city. “You’re the one who is guilty and got blood on your hands for this murder, sir!” one man said.

He’s right. And it’s telling that even leftists will no longer defend Athens’ sanctuary city. That kind of blood in the water ought to encourage conservatives to press harder against the radical Left until it’s utterly defeated, discredited, and abolished.

The Georgia legislature has fought this lawlessness, but it needs to go further to protect women like Laken Riley from illegal alien predators. This is the future of every city in America under Joe Biden and radical Democrats—parents, are you going to risk your children’s lives any longer?
