Radical Tammy Baldwin is Hamas’ Best Friend in the Senate

Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin shines a light on her anti-Israel stance heading into the 2024 election

Tammy Baldwin, the Democrat Senator for Madison, has consistently proved that she is no friend of Israel, going as far speaking against Israel’s right to defend themselves in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

Following the attack, Baldwin toed the Democrat Party line and supported munitions to Israel to defend against the Hamas invasion, but as public opinion in the Democratic voter base began to shift, Baldwin changed her own stance. That’s easy to do when you have no principles.

By December, Baldwin was demanding a ceasefire and working against legislators who sought to send more military aid to Israel. She was one of the first Senators to call for Israel to stop defending itself.

“Netanyahu government’s indiscriminate bombing and military approach has led to unacceptable bloodshed in Gaza and does not appear to be moving us closer to our ultimate goals of removing Hamas from power and achieving a lasting peace in the region through a two-state solution,” Baldwin said at the time.

Hamas ought to consider her their best friend in the U.S. Senate—after all, she’s using American influence and power to stop the Israelis from fighting back against the terrorists in their midst. Now her history of anti-Israel legislation is starting to make a twisted kind of sense.

As tensions in the Middle East continue to rise, Israel needs continued support against a whole host of adversaries, not legislators fighting for the other side.

Israel in many ways parallels the U.S. following the Pearl Harbor attack in Dec. 1941. After the atrocious attack from Japan on U.S. sailors in Hawaii, would it be plausible to tell the U.S. that it should call for a ceasefire? Absolutely not.

Cutting off aid from Israel is not only an unwise decision concerning the ongoing war with Hamas terrorists, but numerous other countries in the area eye Israel with disdain.

In April, Iran fired over 300 missiles at Israel in an unprecedented attack that served as a response to an Israeli raid on the Iranian consulate in Syria. 99 percent of the missiles were intercepted.

Opposing Israel from the Start

The Senator for Madison has a history of backing anti-Israel legislation, including a February letter to President Joe Biden once again demanding he use his power to force a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

As the political landscape of the Democrat party shifts more left, Baldwin has leaned into her beliefs, even posting a website highlighting her calls for the White House to criticize Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Baldwin’s shift follows a change in the Democratic Party, as many supporters are now fervently in support of radical Palestinian groups. A Marquette Law School poll in January found that 37 percent of Wisconsin Democrats said the United States is giving too much support to Israel.

A poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research in February showed that 67 percent of Democrats nationwide believed the military response from Israel in the Gaza Strip has gone too far.

The Left’s Support of Hamas

Following the Hamas terrorist attack on Oct. 7, pro-Hamas student groups—often with university support—encouraged genocide against Israelis in the name of “decolonization.”

Students for Justice in Palestine is an anti-Israel group reportedly funded by radical Palestinians to support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. On the day of the attack, the group released a statement undersigned by 83 allied student groups across dozens of universities:

We honor Palestinians who ‘are working on the ground on several axes of the so-called ‘Gaza envelope’ alongside our comrades in blood and arms, and what is coming is greater. Victory or martyrdom.’

. . . The occupation and colonization is ongoing, and thus our people’s freedom will not be attainable without revolution . . . Glory to Palestine, glory to the resistance, and glory to our martyrs.

Universities including Harvard, Yale, University of California, Berkeley, and University of Virginia reiterated the anti-Israel sentiments with posts of their own.

Many Democrat lawmakers have also sided with Hamas since Oct. 7, including radical Islamist Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

Tlaib, a Democrat from Michigan, proudly displays a Palestinian flag in her congressional office. She’s also pushing President Biden to broker a ludicrous ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, preventing Israel from retaliating for the deaths of 1,300 Jews (including some Americans) and protecting its Gaza border.

Her top fundraiser is also slamming Israel with accusations of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians, while demanding an end to the Gaza blockade.

Conservatives Fight Back

On Oct. 16, Republican Reps. Tom Tiffany (WI) and Andy Ogles (TN) unveiled the Guaranteeing Aggressors Zero Admission (GAZA) Act. This legislation aims to prevent the Biden administration from granting U.S. visas to individuals holding Palestinian Authority passports, thereby barring potentially unvetted individuals, including potential terrorists, from entering the country.

The bill also seeks to halt the Department of Homeland Security’s practice of using parole mechanisms to bring Palestinians into the United States.

“We cannot trust Biden’s DHS to fully vet Palestinians when they are not even vetting all the illegal aliens crossing our southern border,” Rep. Tiffany told Restoration News.

Baldwin has always voted against Israel but kept it under wraps because a majority of Democrats used to support Israel. Now that the Left has infiltrated our universities and waged a propaganda war to demonize Israel and support Hamas, she feels free to release all the work she has done against Israel.

Baldwin does not stand with Israel’s right to defend itself.
