Never Trump Voters Join the Trump Train After Assassination Attempt

After the shooting that left one man dead, two others critically wounded, and Trump almost eliminated, a switch flipped in many Americans.

We all mourn the loss of the hero family man, Corey Comperatore, during the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Americans continue to pray for the recovery of the two other people shot and in critical condition. Since those shots rang out, a remarkable trend has begun. The political violence reached a crescendo with that madman’s bullet. Throughout our history, America hasn’t taken well to assassins murdering our leaders. As polemicized as the fight over Donald Trump has become, one had to wonder how those bullets would affect our national consciousness. Would we still rally together in a patriotic sense that nobody messes with America? Or would America come apart at the seams?

Certainly, there were ugly things to be said and seen on the radical Left. But an interesting thing happened when Donald Trump popped up, raised his fist, and with blood streaming across his face, exhorted the crowd to FIGHT. Many Never Trumpers publicly declared an end to their hostilities. Messages poured across social media taking a similar tone—I never voted for him, but now I’ll crawl across broken glass to cast my ballot.

For the first time, many of them came face-to-face with the true stakes facing America in November. With that realization, they came to the conclusion that they had no choice but to vote for Donald Trump if we ever hope to restore the republic and defeat America’s enemies.

“I Hated Trump So Much”

One remarkable post on X/Twitter from a liberal turned Trump voter contained some striking detail:

[Edited for brevity] In 2016 I hated Trump so much. I hysterically cried on election night. I sobbed and screamed about how he would “take away our rights” and “destroy our country”. I screamed how everyone who voted for him was an “ist” of some kind.

. . . .

I spent a lot of time thinking. Weeding through the mess inside my head. My opinions started to shift and change.

Looking back, it seems like it happened slowly and then all at once.

In 2019, I left the Left.

In 2020 I voted for Trump.

In 2024 I found God.

In a follow-up post, she remarks on the decency of her pro-Trump friends as she completed her journey.

This is a representative sample of a tsunami of similar posts following the shooting of Donald Trump.

Never Trumper Goes from Hating His Guts to Going Gloves Off

Bruce Carroll, affectionately known on X/Twitter as @GayPatriot, could not stand Donald Trump. A dedicated Tea Party conservative, he actively worked against Trump, perceiving him as boorish and insufficiently conservative.

That changed on July 13.

He posted on Facebook:

I’ll be voting for Donald Trump for the first time in November.

The Marxist rot that’s infested one political party has got to be stopped. The shooting and the hiding of Biden’s dementia are just dangerous symptoms.

Gloves off.

He elaborated a bit on X/Twitter:

Never Trumper Realizes the Disaster That is Joe Biden

Another Never Trumper posted this on Facebook:

I’ve been NeverTrump since 2016. I have many many policy disagreements with him.

But…

I’ll be voting for Donald Trump for the 1st time this November.

Bidenomics is a failure. Biden himself is not mentally there and has no business being President. So many issues with the current Biden direction of the country. Record low approval ratings and sentiment in his own party is terrible where current elected officials are calling for him to bow out of reelection.

I’m predicting a red wave. I think even Oregon is in play for Trump.

Centrist Jumps on Trump Train Even Before He Got Shot

Brandi Kruse hosts the [un]Divided podcast, presenting issues from the middle of the road out of the state of Washington. Even before the assassination attempt, she posted this on Facebook:

I never thought I would type these words. If the choices are Biden and Trump in November, I will cast my ballot for Donald J. Trump for the very first time.

Democrats have pushed me to this place. For years, I’ve watched the party in power in Washington state use Trump as a scapegoat to avoid accountability on crises of their own creation. I have watched Seattle media obsess over him while downplaying homelessness, drugs, crime, and left-wing political violence.

Trump isn’t a great choice, but he is not what ails the state we love.

Bill Ackman Endorses Trump After Taking On Campus Wokeism

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman made all sorts of headlines in recent months when he publicly challenged (former) president of Harvard College Claudine Gay over allegations of plagiarism—a controversy that caused her to resign. He also famously ended his donations to Harvard after persistent charges of campus anti-Semitism went un-addressed by the administration.

Now, it seems, he’s realized which party—and which candidate—best represents his views on higher education, the economy, and violent pro-Hamas protests.

Women’s Studies Major Joins the Bandwagon

A woman named Stepfanie Tyler made a truly remarkable post on X/Twitter the day after the assassination attempt:

cried in 2016 when Trump got elected

lost touch w the dems somewhere around MeToo

discovered entrepreneurship

updated my voter registration in 2018 but didn’t tell anyone

told myself i was a ‘single-issue-voting Centrist’

the last 6-12 months i’ve believed i was going to abstain from voting in the upcoming election because the options are equally terrible

but watching Trump survive an assassination attempt and act like a total fucking savage just shifted me into some strange, patriotic gear that my fancy-feminism-white-men-bad infected brain never showed me

like, the dude took a bullet and stood up with blood dripping down his face, and rallied a fucking crowd while fist pumping, yelling “FIGHT!”

sorry, but i’m voting for that.

and saying it out loud feels so freeing

(2012 stepfanie would be so pissed but that’s okay because 2012 stepfanie didn’t know shit)

Her post now has rocketed way past 50 million views because Elon Musk found it so compelling he reposted it.

Speaking of Elon . . .

On Monday, Elon Musk announced he’s getting off the bench and jumping into politics. He’s using his considerable wealth to form a pro-Trump super PAC. Notable partners include the Winklevoss twins:

Elon Musk has said he plans to commit around $45 million a month to a new super political-action committee backing former President Donald Trump’s presidential run, according to people familiar with the matter.

Other backers of the group, called America PAC, include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former U.S. ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, who is chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners.

Formed in June, America PAC is focused on registering voters and persuading constituents to vote early and request mail-in ballots in swing states, according to one of the people. The coalition assessed that the Democrats have historically had very robust “get out the vote” campaigns and took note of the amounts of money that the Biden camp has dedicated to so-called on-the-ground efforts in swing states. America PAC will try to counter that.

Musk is currently the world’s richest person, with an estimated fortune exceeding $250 billion. The amount that he has said he plans to commit to America PAC is an extraordinary sum

It appears Musk has completely digested the red pill:

The Necessity of Trump

This rising tide of support, paired with Never Trump fading away, comes at an inflection point for America. Our nation has come to realize the massive fraud perpetrated on us since 2020, a fraud that had its seeds planted decades ago by the enemies of America. Trump is not a perfect vessel for implementing conservative policy. But if we don’t defeat the enemies of our culture that have made their long march through our institutions, in the deliberate Color War akin to that ignited in China by Mao Tse Tung, we’ll never get to a point where we can implement sound policy. Defeat the enemies first. That’s our only current priority. After that, we can rebuild our society with sound public policy, proposed, implemented, and carried out by men and women of character and good morals.

Remember those?
