LaRose Says More States Likely to Exit ERIC

PODCAST RUNDOWN

Ohio’s Secretary of State Frank LaRose predicts more states will leave the controversial voter roll collective ERIC.

LaRose made the comments this week on the First Right Podcast with host Gerald Ewalt.

Just a week prior, LaRose announced Ohio was pulling out of ERIC, the Electronic Registration Information Center, joining Florida, Missouri, West Virginia, Alabama, and Louisiana. Iowa, North Carolina and Texas also are considering dropping out.

“It’s like when you pull the thread, and the sweater unravels,” he said.

LaRose said he pulled Ohio out because ERIC refused to enact reforms, such as dropping mandates on states on what to do with the data. He said ERIC officials have been arrogant and have exhibited partisanship.

He said Ohio has already been in discussion with other states to form a new collective.
