Evers Screws Seniors, Working Families to Fund Illegal Aliens & Overpaid University Professors

If budgets prove a politicians’ true priorities, Tony Evers chooses Madison over normal Wisconsin every time.

Bidenflation and rising interest rates aren’t enough for Democrat Gov. Tony Evers, so he vetoed Republican-backed bills that would put more money in the pockets of Wisconsin seniors and working families.

Why? The Governor deflected that the tax cuts would’ve supposedly left Wisconsin “unable to meet its basic obligations to adequately fund education, health care, public safety and aid to local governments.” In other words, Evers is more in align with California-style leftism than Wisconsin values.

So what are these “dangerous” policies Evers felt so threatened by?

One bill would’ve helped seniors by reducing taxes on retirement income up to $75,000. Democrats’ tax-and-spend policies are putting more strain on the wallets of Wisconsin’s aging population struggling to make ends meet, but Democrats don’t seem to care.

Another bill vetoed by Evers would’ve increased the marriage tax credit. Republicans want to help families with the costs of rising grocery bills, but Evers and his fellow Democrats aren’t concerned about increased costs for Wisconsin families—even calling Republican efforts to alleviate costs “fiscally irresponsible.”

Since when do “progressives” care about fiscal responsibility? Tax cuts don’t align with the Left’s Marxist playbook—destroy the family, indoctrinate children in government schools, abolish capitalism, and promote socialism—Evers’ priorities seem to be in alignment with.

Out-Of-Control Illegal Immigration

With millions of illegal aliens spilling into Wisconsin through Biden’s open border—overwhelming small communities like Whitewater—you’d think Tony Evers would be more concerned about Wisconsiners’ safety.

Evers’ response: “People [may] have concerns about the Southern border . . . but at the end of the day, Wisconsin is a welcoming place.”

Not surprisingly, the Governor hasn’t taken any action to prevent the influx of illegal aliens entering the state. The problems have gotten so bad in Whitewater, a small town of 15,000, that the police chief sent a letter to the White House asking for help.

Whitewater has been forced to deal with an invasion of 1,000 illegal aliens and Evers just encourages more with financial incentives. He does nothing to stem the flow even though law enforcement reports an increase in drug trafficking and cartel activity.

Evers doesn’t take border security seriously, even with fentanyl and murderers flooding into Wisconsin; he just wants taxpayers to foot the bill and continue the madness.

In his budget, Evers proposes continuing his expired “Housing Safety Grant Pilot Program” to subsidize rental assistance to illegal aliens, taking money away from law-abiding Wisconsin residents.

Other items on Evers’ wish list that helps incentivize illegal aliens to flock to the state: $5 million for the Housing Assistance Program; $500,00 for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program; a Housing Navigation grant for $600,000, assisting illegals with gaining professional licenses; and funding for new bureaucrats to “inspect the housing at migrant labor camps, conduct outreach and investigate complaints.”

Paying for illegal aliens cost Wisconsiners an estimated $514 million in 2023 alone. Could it rise even more in 2024? Since most state subsidies do not require proof of citizenship to obtain, there’s no ceiling for benefits going to the non-citizens who the country illegally, taking away valuable resources from Wisconsin citizens.

Whitewater school district has an enrollment of 1,900 students, 415 of whom are “multilingual learners” including so-called “newcomers.” In case you missed it, that’s Democrats’ new buzzword for illegal aliens. In March 2023, one school board member noted in a forum that the district was anticipating 280 “newcomers” at the end of the year.

Tony Evers wants children to spend more time in government-funded daycare than with their families. He also wants to limit education freedom for families—he advocated for limiting enrollment in schools that participate in parental choice programs.

More opportunities for the state to control the minds of children and appease the teachers’ union overlords.

Overpaying Woke Professors

Then there are the university professors who stand to gain hefty raises from Democrat politicians, who fight to preserve radical leftist Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) programs.

University of Wisconsin (UW) professors already earn $174,000 per year on average—the fifth-highest in the nation and more than 2.5 times the median Wisconsin household income.

Approximately 25 percent of the University of Wisconsin’s funding comes from state taxes. Evers wasn’t concerned about a reduction in revenue when he advocated to allow illegals to receive a discount on tuition. He approves putting money in the pockets of criminals crossing the border and racist DEI policies, but not Wisconsin seniors and families.

These are Evers’ REAL constituents—and you’re not one of them.
